Are you an oldest, youngest, middle, or only child? How do you think it has influenced your personality? How does it compare to your other siblings? Does your parents have favoritisms? What are some good and bad strategies for discipline? Did it work or not?
i am the oldest of 3, and i tell you something, it's great because i can boss everybody about. i love it
I'm the oldest of six, four biological and two adopted. i used to hate it when I was younger because i'd get in trouble for what my siblings did. But when my parents woke up and realized that was stupid, it stopped. Now, i have gotten away with a whole lot, even though I'm grown. hahahahahahahahaha
if you are interested. there are all kinds of books on birth order. Please don't ask me for titles as I don't remember. Just put "birth order" and or "child spacing" in amazon and you will be amazed. Many of my friends swear by it. Personally, I think that it's one of many parameters that make us who we are. Some of the things I've learned about this fascinating subject are;
the oldest usually has a black and white view of good and evil. he or she usually is very serious and more responsible. he usually thinks he is treated unfairly.
seccond borns are usually more demanding, spontaneous, and creative.
like i said these are very much generalizations.
child spacing is as important as the place we hold in our families. after about three or four years of difference it doesn't much matter. wherever you are, you have the qualities of the only child. Some of these qualities are intelligence, inability to relate to older people better, self centeredness, etc. etc.
I'm the youngest of two bio kids. My brother is 7 years older than i am. My mom died after i got married. So I have four step brothers, but since they came along in my adulthood so don't count. Why my dad couldn't have married someone as nice as my stepmom who had daughters is a total mystery to me. just teasing.
I'm an only child and I get spoiled! LOL
I'm an only with a single mum, we don't always get along too well even though I'm a grown woman now in my mid to late twenties, I'm still under her roof and as she sees it, still under her spell, in her control. No wonder the Rottie's my favourite pooch, lol. That's one of the many things we probably will fall out over, since I just suggested we get an older rescue dog which would fit in better with our lifestyle than a puppy, but hey, I digress, lol. That's a topic for animal house board. When I was a small child, pre-secondary school, I was spoilt rotten myself.
Jen.
i am the only child and i am adopted so i am use to it. i am adopted so which is nice. to post um 3 thats cool you have adopted siblings :-)
